Independence Day

The family tradition over the years was 4th of July at Canterbury.  There are always free hot dogs and when the girls were younger there were pony rides.

The babies are too young for such an outing but both sets of parents declare that as soon as they are old enough the tradition will be restored.

In the meantime it was OOTNDITHOD and we have a deck and and a Weber.  I grilled some chicken and some bratwurst and some TwinsDogs.  We had an outstanding turnout and I am pretty sure that until the babies are old enough to go to Canterbury that we should be doing this.
Mother and daughter both in red tops with white stars.  They both also were wearing blue shorts.

Here is most of the crowd watching as Mom prepares baby's bib.
LATE EDIT:  A slightly different angle of all of the same people but a better look at some of them.
I am a little disappointed but this is the best of the shots I got of the cousins and the second cousins.
Babies need to go home early.  It is very hard being a baby and they need to get some rest because tomorrow is another hard day of being a baby.

Mostly they were both very sweet.

Yay! A good time was had by all. And I agree that we should keep doing this until Norah is big enough for Canterbury.

I loved having the "crowd" over and it was a spectacular day to hang around on the deck. I enjoyed meeting Kelsey's Ian (he made us laugh many times), the excellent food and drink, and the babies were incredibly cute and focused (sometimes on the surroundings, other times on being hungry or sleepy). It will be fun next year when they are walking!

Very nice photo of the cousins (squared). Or to the 2nd power, or however that works. The only way to have a new tradition is to start one, and getting together on your deck on the Fourth is a good one to start.

Everybody looks really cute and festive. The matching mother/daughter outfits are adorable.

In the second and third photo, EMSA looks like he's tellling Wireless that the cats are hungry.

I'm glad NCW joined you -- her 4th of July traditions have also been changed dramatically this year, too.

The baby girls are just soooo cute.

Love all of the pictures. I'm sure we will all have many more fun years together like this one.

It was a very nice way to celebrate the 4th, I think we should continue the tradition. Thanks for being such great host and hostess!
